Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday inaugurated a new snack production facility in Baku, built by Nobel Food Industry LLC.

Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Azersun Holding board chairman Ahmad Gozeal briefed the president on the factory’s operations.

The plant, co-owned by Qafqaz Canning Plant (a subsidiary of Azersun Holding) and Shervan LLC, will produce popcorn, desserts, and dried fruits for both domestic consumption and export.

The facility is equipped with modern machinery and has an annual production capacity of 9,600 tonnes. Raw materials such as sunflower seeds, almonds, and hazelnuts will be sourced locally. The 7-hectare plant has created 210 permanent jobs. Total investment amounted to 38 million manats, including a 5 million manat concessional loan from Azerbaijan’s Small Business Development Fund.
