Over 900 vessels experienced navigation system disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing data from the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC).

Fishing boats, cargo ships, and oil tankers began displaying abnormal routes, forcing crews to rely on radar and compass readings, significantly increasing the risk of collisions.

JMIC experts identified "extreme signal jamming" near the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. However, there were no signs of preparations for a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

The disruption comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, fueling concerns about maritime safety in one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes.
