Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will lay the foundation for a new “Uzbekistan” park in Baku and open the country’s new embassy building as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan, his press secretary Sherzod Asadov said on Tuesday.

During the trip, Mirziyoyev is expected to visit the cities of Baku, Khankendi, Shusha, and Aghdam.

On Tuesday, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will hold the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, inaugurate the park project, and open the new embassy premises.

On Wednesday, Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will continue their visit in the Karabakh region, touring a joint textile factory in Khankendi and the historic “Imarat” architectural complex in Aghdam. A wide-ranging package of industrial cooperation agreements has been prepared for the visit.
