Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Afghan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar discussed the development of the Lapis Lazuli transport corridor during a meeting on July 2.

The update was shared by Afghanistan’s deputy economy minister on social media platform X, noting that the Azerbaijani government expressed readiness to increase import and export volumes with Afghanistan.

The Lapis Lazuli corridor is considered one of the most promising routes for Afghanistan’s key exports, including dried fruits, medicinal herbs, and mineral resources.

The Afghan delegation is visiting Baku to attend the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
