Azerbaijan and Afghanistan officials discuss bilateral cooperation

On July 2, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Naim Wardak in Baku.
The sides discussed cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, transit and transport, diplomacy, humanitarian issues, and consular affairs, emphasizing the importance of deepening bilateral relations.
Mammadov thanked Afghanistan for its unequivocal support of Azerbaijan’s just position during the past conflict.
Both sides highlighted the significance of the upcoming 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit, which will also be attended by the Afghan delegation.
Wardak expressed gratitude for the invitation to the international event and stressed that such initiatives promote dialogue and mutual understanding between the countries.
