Russian politician calls for probe into Azerbaijani diaspora

Sergey Mironov, leader of the "A Just Russia – For Truth" party, has sent a request to Russia’s Prosecutor General, calling for a thorough investigation into the activities of Azerbaijani diaspora communities and affiliated structures across the country.
In his letter, Mironov also highlighted the need to inspect major trading hubs such as Sadovod and Food City for compliance with Russian law.
He cited concerns raised by party lawmakers who claim that diaspora networks may pose a threat to national security, particularly pointing to alleged criminal groups involving dual citizens and the potential misuse of diaspora ties "to the detriment of Russia's interests."
The Azerbaijani side has not commented on the statement at the time of publication.
