Azerbaijan maintains neutrality in Ukraine war, offers only humanitarian aid – top official

Azerbaijan remains neutral in the Russia-Ukraine war and provides only humanitarian support, presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev told Slovakia’s Hospodárske noviny.

“Russia and Ukraine are both our neighbors. Maintaining good relations with all neighbors is a top foreign policy priority for Azerbaijan,” Hajiyev said.

He stressed that Baku supports the territorial integrity of all countries, noting that Azerbaijan has itself suffered from violations of this principle.

“We stay away from supplying any military components. Our assistance to Ukraine is purely humanitarian — mainly for children and essential equipment such as power generators,” he said.
