Pashinyan: Armenia received U.S. proposal on corridor with Azerbaijan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday that Yerevan had received a proposal from the United States regarding the management of a transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at a press conference in Yerevan, Pashinyan said the deep mistrust between the two countries could be overcome through continued contact and dialogue. He described his recent meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi as positive and said it might lead to tangible results.

“It was the first time the parties had agreed in advance to meet and hold talks,” he said.

Pashinyan added that the negotiations with Baku are fully transparent and aimed at reaching and ratifying a peace agreement. He also stated that the building hosting the so-called Karabakh separatist "representation" in Yerevan is state property, and any attempt to create a "state within a state" would be met with lawful but firm actions.
