Number of crimes against public safety decreases in Azerbaijan

The number of crimes against public safety and public order decreased in Azerbaijan in 2025, according to official statistics.


The data show that 12,022 crimes were recorded in this category in 2025 compared with 13,273 in 2024, representing 90.6% of the previous year’s level.


At the same time, hooliganism cases increased slightly from 583 in 2024 to 603 in 2025, marking a 3.4% rise.


Crimes related to violations of traffic rules and vehicle operation fell from 2,685 to 2,543.
The number of such incidents resulting in the victim’s death dropped from 621 to 487, a decrease of 21.6%.


Meanwhile, crimes against state authority declined from 1,184 to 1,148.


The number of bribery-related crimes totaled 30 in 2024 and 29 in 2025.


The statistics cover only road accidents related to criminal offenses, the report said.
