Azerbaijan increases car import spending by over 23% in H1

Azerbaijan imported 51,727 vehicles worth $960.7 million in the first half of 2025, marking a 23.3% rise in value and 22.2% rise in quantity compared to the same period last year, the State Customs Committee said.

Imports of passenger cars rose by 24.2% to 47,199 units ($865.3 million), while imports of buses designed to carry 10 or more passengers surged 2.4 times to 250 units ($20.2 million).

Hybrid vehicles combining internal combustion and electric engines jumped 2.6 times to 23,001 units ($472.9 million). Imports of fully electric vehicles dropped by 38.3% to 929 units ($31.6 million).

Imports of trucks rose 0.2% to 4,010 units ($48.7 million), and special-purpose vehicles increased 21.3% to 268 units ($26.4 million).
