Erdogan thanks Aliyev and Azerbaijani people for support on Cyprus

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for their support of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Speaking at an official ceremony marking the "Day of Peace and Freedom" in Northern Cyprus, Erdogan highlighted that the Turkish Cypriot state is now represented in international bodies such as the Organization of Turkic States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.

"Most recently, the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flew alongside other nations’ flags during the ECO summit held in Khankendi. I once again thank President Ilham Aliyev and the brotherly Azerbaijani people for supporting our Cypriot struggle," Erdogan said.
