New resettlement convoy heads to Aghdam and Jabrayil

A new convoy of displaced families has been sent to the liberated areas of Aghdam and Jabrayil as part of Azerbaijan’s state-led “Great Return” program, state media reported on Thursday.
In this phase, 60 families (235 people) have returned to the village of Khidirli in Aghdam, while 50 families (199 people) were resettled in the city of Jabrayil. The returnees had previously been housed in temporary shelters such as dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings across the country.
Residents expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the government’s support, and thanked the Azerbaijani army for liberating the territories. They also paid tribute to the soldiers who died during the conflict.
According to official figures, more than 50,000 people currently live in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions, including resettled civilians, public servants, and employees working in health, education, energy, industry and tourism sectors.
