EU to replace Russian oil and gas with US energy

The European Union will replace Russian oil and gas with U.S. liquefied natural gas and nuclear fuel under a new energy agreement with Washington, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Saturday.

“We will replace Russian gas and oil through significant purchases of U.S. LNG and nuclear fuel,” von der Leyen said, calling the move a step towards supply diversification and greater energy security for Europe.
