SOCAR cuts refined and petrochemical exports in Q2

Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR reduced its exports of refined oil, gas products, and petrochemicals to 570,000 tonnes in the second quarter of 2025, down from 659,000 tonnes in the same period of 2024, according to figures published on SOCAR’s website.
The drop was mainly due to technical issues that halted operations at several facilities in Sumgayit, including SOCAR Polymer and the “EP-300” plant, in mid-July.
SOCAR said gas production in Azerbaijan rose to 12.7 billion cubic meters in Q2 2025 from 12.5 bcm a year earlier, boosting domestic consumption to 2.4 bcm — up by 0.1 bcm year-on-year.
Meanwhile, SOCAR’s drilling volume fell to 18,000 meters in April–June, down 3,600 meters compared to Q2 2024.
