Karabakh war veteran opens fire in Azerbaijani village, no casualties reported

A veteran of the Second Karabakh War opened fire with an assault rifle at a fellow villager in Azerbaijan's Tartar district on the night of August 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday. No injuries were reported.
According to the ministry, 34-year-old Beyrek Guliyev used an AK-74 rifle to shoot at a villager born in 1992. The victim's VAZ-21014 vehicle was damaged, but no one was harmed.
Guliyev was detained by police. The weapon was confiscated, and a criminal case has been launched. Authorities said he had previously faced multiple criminal charges.
An investigation is underway.
