Dust levels in Baku exceed norm by 1.5 times

Dust levels in Baku and across the Absheron Peninsula are 1.5 times higher than normal, the National Hydrometeorological Service said on Monday.
Rena Allahverdiyeva, chief engineer of the Environmental Pollution Monitoring Group, said the dust had a transboundary origin, carried to the country by south-eastern air flows.
"The dust is expected to persist during the day depending on weather conditions," she added.
