Azerbaijan’s Mustafayev reviews work on Iran’s Araz corridor

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Farzane Sadegh visited Tabriz and Julfa to inspect progress on the Araz corridor, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday.
Sadegh said the route is being developed as both a railway and highway linking Iran with “friendly and brotherly” Azerbaijan, allowing cargo transport from east to west and north to south.
She said work on the project had accelerated over the past year due to its strategic importance. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is prioritizing funding for the corridor, and given Azerbaijan’s growing demand, the route will be expanded in the short term, she added.
