Baku security forum serves as a platform for dialogue

The Baku Security Forum once again provided a stage for key discussions on global security, Euronews reported in its coverage titled “Baku Security Forum 2025: terrorism, cyber threats and global crises.”

State Security Service chief Ali Nagiyev opened the forum by quoting President Ilham Aliyev, saying the annual gathering of intelligence experts from across the world created a space of trust and cooperation.

The forum brought together representatives from more than 80 countries to discuss terrorism, cybercrime, disinformation and humanitarian crises.

Kenya’s intelligence chief Noordin Haji stressed that states must cooperate to counter terrorist groups.

The United Nations participated in the forum for the first time, which Euronews said reflected the importance of international dialogue. UN counter-terrorism official Nigel Lazarus said such events helped build strategies through face-to-face exchanges.

The report highlighted that the forum also provided dialogue between conflict-affected states, including Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Argentina’s intelligence director Alejandro Colombo said the three-day discussions produced results that usually take years to achieve.
