Gold breaks $4,000 barrier for first time in history

Gold prices on New York’s Comex exchange hit an all-time high, surpassing $4,000 per troy ounce for the first time ever.
During morning trading, the precious metal reached $4,000.1 per ounce, up 0.35%, before easing to $3,987.4 per ounce as of 04:54 Baku time.
The previous record was set on Oct. 6, when gold prices exceeded $3,949 per ounce.
