Acute intestinal infections decreased 6.4%, from 8,700 cases in 2024 to 8,100. Confirmed enteritis cases dropped 1.9 times, from 2,700 to 1,500 cases.

The overall incidence of viral hepatitis also fell significantly, declining 4.9 times, from 630 cases to 128. Hepatitis A cases decreased 32-fold, from 444 to 14, while Hepatitis C cases fell 2.8 times, from 138 to 50.

In 2025, 19 anthrax cases were recorded nationwide, three fewer than in 2024.

The report highlighted that measures continued under the 2022–2026 malaria roadmap, maintaining Azerbaijan’s malaria-free status. 154,500 blood samples were tested at the national reference laboratory, and no local malaria cases were detected.

Efforts were also maintained to preserve the country’s polio-free status, including epidemiological monitoring and immunization assessments in Göygöl, Yardımlı, Qəbələ, Ağdam, Zərdab, Yevlax, Tovuz, Samux, Qax and Oğuz districts.
