Airbus has set a new record as its A320 became the best-selling aircraft in aviation history, overtaking its U.S. rival Boeing, according to data from Cirium.

Since entering service, the A320 family has sold 12,260 units worldwide. The milestone was reached with the delivery of a new aircraft to Flynas, a Saudi Arabian airline.

The achievement underscores the European manufacturer’s dominance in the global civil aviation market and the sustained demand for narrow-body jets of the A320 family.
