A ceremony was held in Istanbul to unveil a bas-relief dedicated to prominent Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade.

The monument was installed in the scenic Sariyer Park, one of the city’s most picturesque districts.

Vahabzade’s famous words — “Two sons of one mother” — have become a symbol of brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan. The poet is widely admired and quoted across the Turkic world and is often mentioned in speeches by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, TRT reported.

The bas-relief symbolizes respect and strong cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as a tribute to the poet’s rich legacy in Azerbaijani literature.
