Trial of economist Galib Bayramov set for October 22

The Baku Court on Grave Crimes held a preliminary hearing in the criminal case against Galib Bayramov, chairman of the Central Board of the Public Association “Center for Economic Research.”
According to haqqin.az, the session, presided over by Judge Eldar Ismayilov, focused on clarifying the defendant’s personal details.
Bayramov’s lawyer, Zibeida Sadygova, filed a motion to terminate the case on exculpatory grounds. The motion has not yet been reviewed, and the court decided to refer the case for trial.
The hearing is scheduled for October 22.
Bayramov faces charges under Articles 193-1.3.2 (legalization of property obtained by criminal means in large amounts) and 308 (abuse of official powers) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. He remains under police supervision as a preventive measure.
