Dead seals found on Azerbaijan’s Caspian coast

Ten dead Caspian seals were discovered on the shore near Niyazabad village in Azerbaijan’s Khachmaz district, Report news agency said on Monday.

Some of the animals were decomposed, while others had been torn apart by wild animals in the area. Government officials inspected the site and launched an investigation into the cause of death.

The last reported mass die-off of Caspian seals occurred in 2022 on the Dagestan coast of Russia.
