Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has signed a decree easing employment rules for citizens of Turkic states.

Nationals of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will now be able to work and run businesses in Turkey without citizenship or complex permits, with the exception of military and security service roles.

The decree requires a residence permit, proof of no security threat, recognition of foreign certificates, and affiliation with the Turkic community.

The move follows the Organization of Turkic States summit in Gabala, where leaders agreed to deepen economic integration and labor mobility.
