Azerbaijan’s trade hits $31.7 bln in Jan–Aug, exports led by Italy, Turkey and Russia

Azerbaijan exported goods to 112 countries in January–August 2025, while importing from 167 countries, according to the State Statistics Committee. The country’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $31.69 billion, including $16.64 billion in exports and $15.05 billion in imports, leaving a positive balance of $1.59 billion.

Exports were down 8.2% in real terms from the same period a year earlier, while imports decreased 5.5%. Non-oil exports totaled $2.40 billion, up 10.3% in value but down 13.6% in real terms.

Italy accounted for 46.7% of Azerbaijan’s exports, followed by Turkey with 13.4%, Russia with 4.8%, and the Czech Republic with 3.8%. In non-oil exports, Russia received 33.9%, Turkey 16.4%, Switzerland 9.2%, and Georgia 9.0%.
