Azerbaijan to exempt electric vehicles from VAT for one year

Azerbaijan will exempt the import and sale of electric vehicles from value-added tax (VAT) for one year, according to the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.”

Starting January 1, 2026, only vehicles powered exclusively by electric engines will qualify for the VAT exemption, which will remain in effect for one year.
