Facing weakening demand in Russia, Azerbaijani persimmon exporters have boosted shipments to Turkey and are expanding their export geography.

According to Qadir Yusifov, head of the Azerbaijan Persimmon Producers and Exporters Association, prices on the Russian market have dropped 30–40%. A new trade deal allows Azerbaijani persimmons to enter Turkey duty-free and VAT-exempt.

Exports also target Ukraine, Belarus, Arab and European markets. The main growing regions include Goychay and Agdash.
