Azerbaijan expects the current account surplus to continue through 2030

Azerbaijan’s current account balance is expected to remain in surplus through 2030, according to the draft 2026 state budget discussed at the parliament’s economic policy committee.

The draft projects a surplus of $1.9 billion in 2026, $1.55 billion in 2027, $1.23 billion in 2028 and $1.84 billion in 2029.

The current account surplus is forecast at 2.4% of GDP next year and to average 1.7% between 2027 and 2029.
