Four die among 98 poisoning cases in Azerbaijan last month – KTM
A total of 98 people were hospitalized in October with various types of poisoning at the Clinical Medical Center (KTM), and four of them died, the center’s spokesperson Ruzbeh Mammad said on Wednesday.
Ninety-four patients were stabilized and discharged for outpatient care.
The main causes of poisoning were drug overdose (44 cases), acetic acid ingestion (30), alcohol, snake bites, allergic reactions, and carbon monoxide exposure.
Deaths resulted mainly from severe anaphylactic shock, acetic acid poisoning, and drug toxicity.
