In October, prices in Azerbaijan rose for buckwheat, beef, mutton, canned meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, bananas, pears, hazelnuts, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, beets, carrots, potatoes, chocolate and tea, the State Statistics Committee reported.

At the same time, prices fell for lemons, oranges, mandarins, apples, quinces, pomegranates, persimmons, grapes, kiwis, walnuts, chestnuts, greens, pumpkins, garlic and onions.

Among non-food products, clothing, jewelry and personal hygiene items became more expensive, while detergents and cleaning agents got cheaper.

The consumer price index for paid services was 100.4% compared to the previous month and 106.6% year-on-year for January–October.

Price increases were observed in housing rent, metro and taxi fares, city and suburban bus transport, and restaurant services, while only international airfares showed a decline, the committee said.
