Assassination attempt on Sergei Shoigu foiled at Moscow cemetery

An assassination attempt targeting Russia’s Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu was prevented at Troyekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow, according to Russian media reports.

The plotters allegedly recruited two Russian citizens and placed a hidden camera inside a flower vase to monitor Shoigu’s expected visit to his relatives’ graves.

FSB officers detained the suspects, and the threat to Shoigu’s life was averted.
