02.12.2025 12:30

Azerbaijan imported 45,558.54 tonnes of rice in January–November 2025, down 18.6% from the same period in 2024. According to the State Customs Committee, the value of rice imports fell 26.5% to $42.69 million.

In January–November 2024, rice imports totalled 55,961.59 tonnes worth $58.14 million. India accounted for most of the country’s rice imports last year.

Experts attribute the decline to rising domestic production and recent adjustments in trade policy.
