The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has suspended the operations of Paysis, a payment service provider implicated in a criminal case involving illegal online gambling.

The regulator said the decision follows the opening of a criminal investigation by the Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General against the company and its management.

Paysis is accused of facilitating gambling through online platforms and conducting unlawful transactions. The case has been referred to the Baku Serious Crimes Court.

Under Article 63.1 of the Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems, the central bank ordered the suspension of all payment services, except for refund operations to users.
