Azerbaijani fuel enters Armenia via Georgia
A train carrying oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia is currently crossing the Armenian-Georgian border, Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said.
According to Papoyan, 22 rail tankers loaded with Azerbaijani-origin A-95 gasoline, totalling around 1,300 tonnes, are passing through the Ayrum border station. The shipment is being delivered via the Azerbaijan–Georgia–Armenia railway route.
Papoyan said the delivery could mark the first trade and economic transaction between Armenia and Azerbaijan following the establishment of peace, and the first such operation between the two countries since they gained independence.
