Ukraine scraps Christmas and New Year holidays under martial law

Ukraine has cancelled additional days off for Christmas and New Year due to the ongoing state of martial law, local media reported.

According to the reports, December 31 will also be a regular working day, with no shortened pre-holiday working hours.

Since 2023, Ukraine has celebrated Christmas on December 25 under a decision by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, aligning the holiday with the Western calendar.
