Azerbaijan issues postage stamp in memory of AZAL plane crash near Aktau
Azerbaijan has issued a commemorative postage stamp honoring an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft that crashed in Kazakhstan last year.
The presentation ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Azerbaijan National Museum of History, the Report news agency said.
According to the organizers, the infinity symbol used in the stamp’s design represents the lasting memory of the трагic event, its victims and the heroism of the crew, which left a mark on the country’s national history.
The stamp was released as a joint initiative of AZAL and Azerpost and is dedicated to the anniversary of the air crash near the city of Aktau. The project pays tribute to the victims and highlights the courage of the crew members, whose professional and selfless actions in extreme conditions helped save the lives of 29 people.
