Delcy Rodriguez sworn in as Venezuela’s acting president following Maduro’s capture
Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has officially assumed the role of acting president of Venezuela, following the detention and extradition of Nicolas Maduro by U.S. forces.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the National Assembly, presided over by Speaker Jorge Rodriguez.
In an emotional address, Rodriguez condemned what she termed as "illegal military aggression" against the nation.
"I take this oath with a heavy heart for the suffering of the Venezuelan people," she stated. Despite the ceremony, the international community remains divided, as many nations recognize the transition as part of a crisis triggered by the U.S.-led "Operation Midnight Hammer."
