Bir ecosystem concluded the year with innovation and strong performance
In 2025, Bir ecosystem entered the country’s business and financial environment, creating new opportunities for its customers through innovative solutions. Through leading brands such as Birbank, Birmarket, m10, and MilliÖn, as well as joint ventures with Trendyol Azerbaijan and BakıKart, the Bir ecosystem provided customers with fast, convenient, cost-effective, and secure services.
From the beginning of the year, with the support of Birbank, the network of QR payments, recognized as a fast and secure payment method for both customers and entrepreneurs, was expanded from 20 000 to 40 000 points of acceptance. This development supported the growth of technological solutions in the financial sector and contributed to more efficient management of operations.
One of the key priorities was to make everyday life easier for users of public transport. The project initially started with the ability to top up BakıKart balances via the Birbank application. As a result of Birbank’s technological support, contactless payments using NFC technology were introduced across all bus routes operating in the city of Baku, as well as at all stations of the Baku Metro. Moreover, this solution was made available not only to Kapital Bank customers but to users across the entire banking sector.
The VAT refund feature introduced in m10 was met with strong customer interest. The Birbank Savings Account changed traditional perceptions of managing personal funds and earning income. Designed to generate daily returns for users, the product became one of the standout solutions of the year by offering interest not only on the principal amount but also on accrued interest.
Bir ecosystem, which continues to push the boundaries of digital innovation, also opened the doors to the world of investments for its customers. A completely new mobile application, Birbank Invest, joined the Birbank family of more than three million active users. This made it possible to become a shareholder of globally recognized companies and access international financial markets with just one click, anytime and with a high level of security.
Transforming shopping habits and making online commerce faster, more convenient and more accessible was another successful initiative of the year. The “Buy now, pay later” payment option activated on the Trendyol online shopping platform was made available through the Birbank mobile application. The opportunity to split purchases into four equal payments over a two month period became a valuable advantage for customers.
The partner network expanded to 4 000 locations, enabling customers to earn and spend bonuses at thousands of retail outlets. Sending money to loved ones through m10 became even easier and could be completed in just a few clicks. At the end of the year, the introduction of a digital in app card within m10 elevated the use of funds to an international level and allowed users to make payments worldwide with ease.
In addition, Bir ecosystem marked a historic milestone in the field of inclusivity. For the first time in Azerbaijan’s banking sector, a video call service with sign language support for customers with hearing and speech impairments was launched within the Birbank mobile application.
Inspired by the achievements of 2025, Bir ecosystem aims to further expand and introduce new financial innovations in 2026. The main focus remains on delivering even more convenient, fast and secure services to customers while contributing innovative solutions to the continued development of the country’s financial sector.
