Trump to unveil "Peace Council" for Gaza under international leadership

 U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce the formation of an international "Peace Council" next week to oversee the governance and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Axios reported on Thursday.

The proposed body, chaired by Trump himself, will reportedly include about 15 world leaders from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and major European powers.

Under the council's mandate, a yet-to-be-formed Palestinian technocratic government would manage daily affairs while Nickolay Mladenov, a former UN Middle East envoy, is slated to serve as the council's representative on the ground.

Mladenov is currently in Israel for high-level talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The move signals a shift toward multilateral administration as part of Trump's broader regional stability plan.
