Azeri Light Crude Drops Below 2026 Budget Benchmark
As of today, January 9, 2026, the price of Azerbaijan's Azeri Light crude oil has decreased by $1.13 (1.72%), settling at $64.60 per barrel. In the Turkish port of Ceyhan (FOB), the price was recorded at $62.8 per barrel.
This price dip is significant because Azerbaijan's 2026 State Budget is calculated based on an average oil price of $65 per barrel.
Current trading below this threshold puts focus on the country's fiscal resilience and the performance of its non-oil sector.
For comparison, Brent crude is currently trading around $61.89, reflecting broader market pressures including increased global supply and geopolitical uncertainties.
