Reza Pahlavi says he is ready to return and lead Iran in transition
Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last shah who was overthrown in 1979, said he is ready to return to the country and lead it during a transitional period.
The remarks were reported by Fox News, citing Pahlavi’s own statement.
The planned visit would mark his first return to Iran in nearly 50 years. His decision comes amid ongoing mass protests across the country.
“It has been a long time, but I will be there soon. I am ready to return to Iran and am already planning it. I am being asked to step in and lead this transitional period, and I can say that I am ready to do so,” Pahlavi said.
