Denmark says U.S. nuclear pressure over Greenland would not work
12.01.2026 11:30

Denmark will not hand over Greenland to the United States under any circumstances, including potential threats involving nuclear weapons, Danish lawmaker Rasmus Jarlov said.

He stressed that Denmark’s sovereignty and Greenland’s status are not subject to pressure or bargaining, regardless of the form or scale of threats from other countries.

Jarlov added that such scenarios are entirely unacceptable and would not affect Copenhagen’s position on the island’s status.
