Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a phone call with Syria’s interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa that Syria’s territory must be fully cleared of terrorism, Erdogan’s office said.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria. Erdogan said Turkey attaches great importance to Syria’s territorial integrity, unity, stability and security.

He said eliminating terrorism from Syrian territory was essential not only for Syria but also for regional stability.
