Aliyev accepts Trump’s invitation to join Peace Council

 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join his Peace Council initiative as a founding member, according to a letter released on Tuesday.

Aliyev said he views the invitation as a sign of mutually beneficial partnership based on mutual respect and as recognition of Azerbaijan’s role in promoting peace and stability at regional and global levels.

He said Azerbaijan supports the Council’s mission to help end the conflict in Gaza and expressed confidence that the Peace Council would become an effective international organisation.
