Turkey backs diplomacy on Iran and Ukraine, urges stability in Black Seahe Black Sea.
ANKARA, Jan xx — Turkey supports a diplomatic settlement of tensions surrounding Iran and opposes any form of external military intervention, President Tayyip Erdogan’s chief foreign policy and security adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic said on Wednesday.
Speaking to broadcaster TRT Haber, Kilic said political and social developments in Iran were an internal matter and should be resolved through diplomacy.
He added that Ankara would continue to use all available channels to help facilitate dialogue aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier on Wednesday, Turkey’s National Security Council, chaired by Erdogan, discussed the situation around Iran and the war in Ukraine, stressing the importance of regional stability and warning against actions that could undermine security in the Black Sea.
