Zelenskyy confirms "energy truce" talks in UAE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented late Thursday on U.S. President Donald Trump's statement that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had agreed to halt strikes on Kyiv during the winter freeze.

"Energy is the foundation of life, and we value our partners' efforts to help us protect it. Thank you, President Trump! Teams spoke about this in the Emirates. We expect the agreements to be fulfilled," the Ukrainian leader noted.

Expressing gratitude to Trump for ensuring the safety of Ukrainian cities during the cold period, Zelenskyy emphasized that such de-escalation steps contribute to tangible progress toward ending the war.
