Iranian students launch strikes and protests across major cities
Despite widespread repression, Iranian students continue to hold mass protests and strikes across the country. Over the weekend, students at Tehran University protested against the large-scale arrests and crackdowns on peers who participated in anti-government demonstrations.
According to the Iranian outlet "Amir Kabir," medical students at Tehran University launched a strike, boycotting lectures and exams. In empty classrooms, students displayed a photograph of Aida Heydari, who was killed during previous protests, alongside her bullet-ridden dress. Reports from Tabriz, Mashhad, and Ahvaz indicate that college students in those cities have also gathered at campus entrances in a show of solidarity.
