Pashinyan says Armenian exports can transit through Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Azerbaijan has allowed Armenian goods to be exported to third countries through its territory.
In an interview with Armenia’s Public Television, Pashinyan said rail links via Azerbaijan already exist and operate without obstacles.
“It is important to note that railway access from Armenia to the outside world through Azerbaijan is open, and I have the impression that our business community has not yet fully digested this news,” he said.
The routes involve rail transport through Georgia and Azerbaijan to third countries, including Russia, Central Asia and China.
Pashinyan said the issue was discussed during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi.
On Feb. 4, Aliyev and Pashinyan said during talks in Abu Dhabi that they were ready to continue efforts to strengthen peace and stability between the two countries.
