Global media spotlight Vance’s visit to Baku
U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Azerbaijan has drawn widespread international media coverage.
The Strategic Partnership Charter signed during meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as joint press statements, were extensively reported by major global outlets.
U.S. media including Associated Press, CNN, Fox News, ABC, The Washington Post and PBS broadcast the joint remarks live.
The Washington Post reported that Vance outlined plans for a new transit corridor — the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) — aimed at transforming a Soviet-era railway line to connect Azerbaijan through Armenia to Nakhchivan and Turkey.
Reuters said the agreement marked a new phase in U.S.–Azerbaijan relations and noted Vance’s announcement that the United States would send vessels to help protect Azerbaijan’s territorial waters.
AFP reported that Vance described the charter as evidence of the enduring nature of bilateral ties.
Media outlets across Europe, Turkey, Russia and other regions also covered the visit and its regional implications.
